Win A
Free DXpedition For A Young Ham
2007 CQWW SSB Winner
Once again we are sponsoring
one young ham operator (21 or under) to join our team and
receive an all expense paid trip to operate in the 2007 CQWW SSB
or CW contest with the 6Y1V team. You can reside in any country
in the world and be considered for this opportunity provided you
hold a valid amateur radio license in your country and have some
contest experience.
This is a gift to a young ham
whom has a passion for Ham Radio and contesting. It is our way
of giving something back to this great hobby that has given so
much to each of us!

To qualify, you must send an
email to
containing an essay of 500 words or more, in English, describing
how you got started in ham radio, whom guided you through the
process, and tell us why you should be selected for this contest
opportunity at 6Y1V. Please include your full name, call sign
and home address.
We are looking for a young ham (21 or under),
with some contest experience, that would consider this
opportunity a dream come true! You must have your parent’s
written permission to make the trip on your own, or they may
join you, at their own expense.
We will continue
to take applications from young hams until August 31, 2007.
Our team will review all applicants for the young ham position
and select one young ham to join us for this exciting DXpedition
and contest opportunity.
We
will pay all expenses for the young ham, including airfare,
license fees, QTH rental share and food. The rest of the
6Y1V
team will ensure this is the most memorable ham radio experience
ever!
The selection process is based upon each young
hams written essay of 500 words or more describing how he/she
got started in amateur radio, describing the young ham’s Elmer
(the person helping the ham get started in amateur radio) and
why this young ham should be selected for this exciting contest
expedition.
We are particularly interested in young hams that
have never operated outside of their home country, have never
been on any DXpedition and would not otherwise have opportunity
to do so under any other circumstances.
